Thank you and have a wonderful Easter everyone…

I’ve had another wonderful term with your beautiful children. We are a very happy family in 2MC and as I’ve said before, the children genuinely care about and look after one another. They have all made such great progress this year – in every aspect of their learning. For me the most important thing is that the children are kind and give their best and your children demonstrate this every day.

We said goodbye to Mr Palmer today and I feel very sad about this. I’ve worked with Scott for many years and he is one of the most dedicated, caring educators I’ve met. All the year groups made a hat for him (as he’s a big fan of the Great British Sewing Bee) based on his character. D in 2MC modelled our hat which was inspired by Scott’s love of the natural world. Scott spoke today about what a special school Rosendale is and in particular how Miss Atkins has nurtured an environment where everyone is allowed to be themselves. This is so true of our school.

We all wish Scott the best of luck as he moves into the next chapter of his life as Headteacher of a primary school.

Thank you for all your support this term. I wish you all a very restful, happy Easter and I shall see you in a couple of weeks.

Computational thinking.

This afternoon the children had their first lesson about computational thinking. We’ll soon be going into the Mac suite, but we started today using the beebots.

Computational thinking is about understanding the need to be logical and clear about the instructions we give to a computer. The children had fun (and were a little frustrated at times!) as I pretended to be a robot and they gave me instructions to spread Nutella on a piece of bread.

Year 4 Fundraising

A reminder that this Friday Year 4 are organising an optional no-uniform day and an Easter themed cake sale to raise money for their trip to France.  Children are welcome to come into school in their own clothes and donate a coin, and all year groups are invited to bake and contribute cakes towards the sale.
